Saffron is a plant which can dye water thousands times of its own weight. Therefore, if an ink is named after that, our expectations raise. Luckily, Caran d’Ache is not disappointing, not letting us down.
As you may already know, Caran d’Ache released a new ink line last year. However, it is possible to find those “old” inks in many stationery stores or some retailers. That’s why, I didn’t want to skip reviewing this ink. And let me tell you, even though there is a new “orange” ink called Electric Orange in the new series of Caran d’Ache, it is not the same color as Saffron.
Caran d’Ache Saffron qualifies its name, such a great orange. It is probably the most popular orange ink right after Noodler’s Apache Sunset. Great flow and being smooth wet and being accessible compared to Noodler’s inks makes it a such popular ink.
By the way, I have great news for those who likes shading in the inks. This ink shades like crazy 🙂 It is one of the most shading inks I have ever seen. If you are looking for a great orange ink and enjoy shading inks, don’t hesitate when you run across Caran d’Ache Saffron.
